Udo Rieder, President and Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining Erickson, Mr. Rieder was Vice President Parts Logistics and Services for Bombardier Aerospace, located in Montreal, Canada.
Mr. Rieder's background includes over 27 years of aerospace experience including Vice President Engineering and Planning, and Vice President Purchasing at Delta Air Lines, in addition to other engineering experience with Bell Helicopter Textron and American Airlines. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A& M University and executive training courses at Emory University in Atlanta and Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
He has served as the Chairman of the Engineering, Maintenance and Materiel Council of the Air Transport Association and as the Chairman of the e-Business Committee for the same organization. In 2004, the Association honored him with the prestigious Nuts 'n Bolts award. This honor is given in recognition of outstanding service and contributions to the airline industry over an extended period; and for succeeding in improving the system or component processes related to airline engineering, maintenance or material management.
Eric K. Struik, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Struik has nearly 20 years of experience in finance, management, and executive leadership for global organizations. Prior to joining Erickson, he served as Vice President of Finance for Remy International, a leading worldwide manufacturer and distributor of power systems for the global light vehicle, commercial vehicle, and rail markets, with more than $1.1 billion in annual revenue.
Prior to his tenure with Remy International, Mr. Struik was Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations for Callaway Golf, a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of technology-driven sporting goods equipment. Prior to Callaway, Mr. Struik developed a deep and varied background in managing financial operations for manufacturing businesses, having held positions with Visteon, Lear, and Chrysler corporations.
Mr. Struik holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and received his MBA from Indiana University. His financial certifications include Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified in Financial Management (CFM), and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Mr. Struik grew up in Europe and Japan, and speaks French, Spanish, and some German.
H. E. "Mac" McClaren, Vice President Aerial Services
Prior to joining Erickson, Mr. McClaren was Vice President and Program Manager for the V-22 Osprey Programs at Bell Helicopter, located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. McClaren comes to Erickson with over 3 decades of experience in rotorcraft. He has served over 25 years in the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot logging over 4,500 hours in 14 different type aircraft. He has held numerous operational and acquisition billets including the Head, Expeditionary Aviation Working Group, Commanding Officer, Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, Operations Officer, 1st Marine Division, and Program Development Officer for the Marine Corps (Prince of the POM). After retiring from the Marine Corps, Mr. McClaren worked at Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. as Director, Heavy Lift Programs where he brought the US Marine Corps' Heavy Lift Replacement Program (CH-53K) through concept to Milestone B and into System Development and Demonstration (SDD). And finally at Bell Helicopter he worked as Vice President, H-1 Upgrades, VH-71 Presidential Helicopter Program, and U.S. Coast Guard Deepwater Programs and finally VP and PM for the MV-22 and CV-22 Osprey Programs.
Mr. McClaren is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, the U.S. Army War College, as well as executive training courses at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Santiago Crespo, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing
Prior to joining Erickson, Mr. Crespo was the Global Key Account Director for CHC Helicopter, where he was responsible for managing its Oil & Gas business with over $1 billion in annual revenues. Prior to that position, he was CHC's Commercial Director for the Americas territory, with responsibilities that included growing the Oil & Gas business in Brazil and development of CHC's US Government contract acquisition strategy.
Mr. Crespo has 20 years of international experience in global sales, marketing, finance, and management, and is deeply familiar with Erickson's subsidiary Evergreen Helicopters business, having previously served as its Director of South American Sales and Marketing from 2006 until 2010. In this position, he was responsible for a number of business development efforts, including its oil and gas customers. Mr. Crespo's career has also included positions where he was responsible for financial analysis, aviation safety standards management, contract management, and supply chain and distribution management.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from the Catholic University of Ecuador and received his MBA from the University of Portland. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Edward Rizzuti, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ed Rizzuti joined Erickson in August 2010 and has served as our Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since November 2011. Prior to joining Erickson, from August 2006 to August 2010, Mr. Rizzuti worked for NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc., most recently serving as Associate General Counsel. From January 2004 to July 2006, Mr. Rizzuti served as Legal Counsel for Terex Corporation. Prior to his employment with Terex, Mr. Rizzuti worked as a lawyer with Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC from September 1999 to July 2003, focusing in the area of private equity and corporate transactional work. From September 1998 to September 1999 Mr. Rizzuti worked as a lawyer with Clifford Chance LLP. Mr. Rizzuti received his JD from New York University School of Law and holds a BS in civil engineering from Rutgers University.
Michael D. New, Ph.D., Vice President of Safety, Security and Compliance
Dr. Michael D. New has responsibility for safety, security, and compliance across Erickson’s global base of operations and, with a 30-year career in aviation as both a highly qualified pilot and safety executive, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position.
Dr. New was most recently Senior Vice President, Corporate Safety, Security, and Compliance with Korean Air, and previously held senior management and engineering positions at companies including Aveos Fleet Performance, Inc., United Continental Holdings, Inc., Bristow Group, Delta Air Lines, and Lockheed Martin. He began his career as a US Air Force pilot and then as an airline captain and instructor, having received type-ratings on the B-737, B-757, and B-767.
Dr. New has received advanced degrees including a Ph.D. with a focus on human factors engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Glenn Splieth, Vice President of Global Human Resources
Prior to joining Erickson, Mr. Splieth was the Vice President of Human Resources for RadiSys Corporation, a leading wireless infrastructure and solutions provider for telecom, aerospace, and defense applications. While at RadiSys, he directed company-wide HR management in 12 countries across Europe, North America, and Asia, and was deeply involved in acquisition integration.
Mr. Splieth has over 25 years of experience in human resources management and program development, and has held HR leadership positions at NetTest Corporation, Epson Portland, Mentor Graphics Corporation, and Hewlett Packard Corporation, with a particular focus in the areas of change management, organizational development, global employee relations, compensation, benefits, learning and development, and staffing.
He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Utah State University and a Masters of Public Administration from Montana State University.
